Telehealth billing changes



We would like to send a big thank you to all of our patients for supporting us over the last several months so that we can continue to support you and your families.  You may have noticed changes to the way we operate to comply with the Department of Health's infection control guidelines. As ever, our first priority is to keep our patients, our staff and our community safe.  It has been our pleasure to bulk bill patients for telehealth consultations since this service became available in March. Below, we have outlined information on Bulk Billing changes that came into effect as of the 1st October 2020.  Bulk billing changes From the 1st October, the Government announced that they are removing the criteria and incentives for Bulk Billing patients for telehealth appointments.  What does this mean for you? In order to remain financially viable so that we can continue looking after our patients, you may now be privately charged for your telephone/telehealth appointment. Concession, Pension, DVA and Health Care Card holders are still eligible to be bulk billed for telehealth consultations between 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday.  We are pleased to continue offering telehealth consultations for the following:                   -Scripts                   -Repeat Referrals                   -Results                   -Patients with COVID-19 symptoms who are isolating at home. These telehealth consultations will be charged at a reduced rate of $60 (~$20 out-of-pocket) between 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday. If you would prefer a telehealth consultation in place of a face-to-face appointment and/or are unable to come into the clinic, we may be able to offer you a telehealth consultation subject to our regular consultation fees.  Face-to-face appointments will now also be available from 19th October for all other appointments.  We would like to let you know that we have put a price freeze on our consultation fees to continue to support you during this time.  If you have any questions about any of the above please feel free to email us at tvmc@tvmc.com.au or call our friendly staff on 9826 8811.
