Women’s Health Check

Women have very specific health needs.  An annual health check allows your Doctor to update your medical, family and social history and look at any potential health issues. This focuses on preventative health strategies aimed at safeguarding your health.  It is much more comprehensive than a standard gynaecological check.

  • A health check may cover the following:

  • Pap tests

  • STI screening

  • Fertility and pregnancy

  • Breastfeeding

  • Contraception (including Implanon and Mirena IUD)

  • Menstrual problems

  • Menopause

  • Heart health (BP, ECG and blood tests)

  • Weight management

  • Diabetes risk and assessment

  • Breast cancer check

  • Bowel cancer screen

  • Eye health

  • Bone Density assessment

  • Skin Check

  • Immunisation status

  • Alcohol and drug issues

  • Mental health concerns such as depression

  • Sexual problems

  • Injuries

  • Relationship problems

Your Doctor or the Practice Nurse can also assist with advice and  information on how to make lifestyle changes and improve your health.

We recommend an annual women’s health check.
